I am pleased to report the conclusion of another successful Venture-killing contest! The host of the contest, Agent CODE Agent AC, has tallied up the results from the exciting event this February. As you'll recall, the objective for each contestant was to kill as many unique highsec Venture pilots as possible. Although Ventures have few hitpoints, this contest is actually quite a challenge: A committed Venture-ganker will often run into the same Venture pilot repeatedly. Hunting down unique pilots takes skill, creativity, luck, and persistence.
Lots of gankers and aspiring gankers got in on the action. There were, of course, the usual moans and complaints from the carebear crowd, who believe the contest is about ganking newbies and driving them away from the game. This is nonsense, as CCP Rise has conclusively proven.
But enough background info. You want to hear who won, don't you?
The winner has been announced by CODE Agent AC on the official EVE-O forum thread for the contest. And the winner, with over 175 unique Venture pilots destroyed is...
EveIs ABadGame PleaseQuit
(Formerly known as GALLENTE CITIZEN 17090130)
A heartfelt congratulations to EveIs ABadGame PleaseQuit. What an effort! A special thanks also goes out to the rest of the contestants, and CODE Agent AC, for showing everyone how much fun highsec can be--when we all work together in accordance with the Code.
The Code ALWAYS Wins!!!! ALWAYS!!!!
ReplyDeleteEspecially in the case of Mr. ABadGame PleaseQuit!
And here goes pocket repeat again.

Never mind spelling
Or grammar, or making sense
Emoting trumps all
So you Maria Malukker think spelling is that important?
DeleteAbout 10% of the worlds population have a disorder that makes it hard to see spelling errors and you make fun of them?
How does that apply to the Code you say you are following?
You are attacking a minority of players in EVE and that is against EULA but you probably allready know that, right?
I'm making fun of M, specifically. I figured that pointing out several different kinds of behavior that he engages in would have made that clear.
DeleteStill you make fun of players with spelling problems and that still is a violation of the EULA as soon as you target a group of players like that.
DeleteEven if you say you don't target that group you may get in trouble just to make fun of a disorder that is more or less prominent in players.
As I said how does that apply to the Code you say you are following?
If you intend to report me to CCP, please be my guest. It's good to remind them that these kinds of frivolous petitions are what they get when they coddle carebears.
DeleteBeyond that, I'm not sure I understand your question. How does my making fun of M apply to the Code? In the same way that my understanding of organic chemistry does, or of programming: they're unrelated.
Personally, CODE. Agents perfectly understand that making fun of minorities is against the EULA.
DeleteWe just don't care.
Minorities are there to be made of fun of, and especially minorities that misspell their words.
Because the very act of misspelling words illustrates huge gaps in intelligence, pedigree, and learning, compared with normal people. It (fairly, I might add,) lets us determine which people's opinions should be read, and respected, and those that we should treat with derision and disrespect.
As the evidence clearly shows, the demographic that misspells their words the most is already a candidate for abuse and disrespect due to their cowardice: The Highsec Carebear.
This is another reason why CODE. Agents are better than Carebears, and why we should be treated with respect by those who are beneath our station.

Maria Malukker, you represent Code. so what you do means everything.
DeleteMing Tso, you know that you some day may get in trouble by being a jerk like this?
You say dyslexia is equal to low IQ, read this list and see if the diagnosed minority is the one that have low IQ or you.

lol, i love how much the disfunctional duo try to make fun of me :)

The winner had half the Venture kills of the last Venture-killing contest.
ReplyDeleteAnd CODE had fewer kills in February than it has had in 10 months.
Pickings getting a little slim out there?
Nah, just that code members are starting to quit in record numbers, that and a few more have been banned.
Delete-=M=-
I wonder how many of those 175 Venture pilots rage quit? How many continue to mine? and how many chose to do something worthwhile in eve such as shooting other peoples ships? I'd be interested to compare that data with a sample of Venture pilots who didn't get ganked in Feb.
ReplyDeleteGetting data for the "not ganked" group would be difficult since it's hard to determine who was flying Ventures during that time. You could probably create a comparison sample of "ganked, not in a Venture" group from killboard data.
DeleteI think it would be a good idea to record a few other common categories to break up your sample population. Corp membership, character age, etc. It would be interesting to see what factors are the strongest predictors of future behavior such as subscription status, corp membership, etc.
Let us know what you find!
All of these venture pilots are welcome to apply to my corp.

Dare you let them in?

I noticed since i let code know i actully help their targets (ie innocent miners and other players), that the miner bumping posts have stopped showing who they have ganked.
ReplyDeleteGuess code does not want their targets to get any help. Oh well! To the killboards i go!
-=M=-
Venture pilots! Help is on the way!
Oh lord, this is like the reincarnation of Veers. Same non-stop attempts at baiting, same unwarranted self-importance. Well, at least you keep things unintentionally funny.
DeleteOh i bow down to you maria, mistress of that which is funny :)
DeleteThou i do dislike the idea of being similar to veers, how insulting! lol

No, see, the difference is that the New Order actually is important. There's a reason why it's been M coming to our site in order to respond to the posts detailing our victories, and not the other way around. The New Order actually has victories, lots and lots of them. M doesn't. The New Order actually does influence people's behavior, and is widely talked about. M isn't.
DeleteAn awareness of our own importance isn't unwarranted, it's just a clear-eyed recognition of the truth: The Code is the heart of highsec society, and CODE. are the rock-stars of highsec.
